Dear Mr Obama,
When I heard about possible East Coast offshore drilling I wanted to begin this email by exclaiming, "ARE YOU CRAZY?" Can't you see that once again you've forgotten the method by which you won the Whitehouse. Remember that your ability to connect with the American people is what got you elected. What is the message? I'm sure that you're aware that an oil well can leak? If you're not, then recall years ago they said tankers couldn't possibly spill because of their double-hull. You know about such assurances. I'm also sure that you're aware of the ecological importance of the gulf stream. The impact of a spill in this region, a fast moving river of spilled oil in the North Atlantic, oil traveling hundreds and thousands of miles.
